QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike tunable controller: red motor plug, 21A and 500W

If you ride the QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike, you need a controller that matches the motor. This tunable controller has a red motor plug and delivers 21A at 500W. It arrives restricted and can be tuned up to 45 km/h on private property.

Which bike is this controller for?

The controller is intended for the QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike. That is the V20 Pro on narrow 20 inch tyres, with disc brakes, front suspension and a 48V / 15Ah / 720Wh battery. Tuning works the same way as on the QMWheel V20 Pro.

You need it if your old controller is faulty or damaged, or if you want to tune a restricted Skinny Bike later. If you order the bike in the Tunable version, the controller is already included and you do not need to buy it separately.

What the controller does

The controller distributes the current from the battery to the motor. That is how it determines how strongly and up to what speed the motor assists.

Restricted on the cycle path

When restricted, the Skinny Bike remains an electric bike with pedal assist up to 25 km/h. That way you ride legally on cycle paths and in town without a driving licence or number plate. That is where the narrow tyres come into their own, as they roll easily on tarmac.

Tuning: what is possible and what is allowed

To tune up to 45 km/h, you combine this controller with the tunable H6C display. You activate the higher speed with a tuning code. With the killswitch you go back to 25 km/h: hold two buttons for about 3 seconds. Riding tuned is only allowed on private or enclosed property; on public roads a maximum of 25 km/h pedal assist applies.

Fitting

You reach the controller most easily if you first remove the saddle from the bike. Then you connect 5 cables. Take a photo of the old connections beforehand, so you can see exactly which plug goes where. After fitting, test in restricted mode first. Can't work it out? Warranty, delivery and service

Parts come with a manufacturer's warranty, and if there are problems we will think along with you. In the Netherlands, an order placed before 23:59 is delivered tomorrow. We also deliver to Belgium and Germany. The part comes in compact packaging.

Frequently asked questions about the Skinny Bike controller

How do I know whether my Skinny Bike has a red motor plug?

Look at the plug in the cable between the motor and the controller. If it is red, this controller fits. With a black plug you need a different type.

Do I also need a different display?

For tuning, yes. With the tunable H6C display you activate the higher speed with a code and switch back with the killswitch.

Am I allowed to ride tuned on the cycle path?

No. Riding tuned is only allowed on private or enclosed property. On the cycle path and public roads you ride restricted to 25 km/h.

Is the controller delivered fitted?
