Ouxi GT20 – Black: compact fatbike for two, road-legal straight away in the Restricted (250W) version

The Ouxi GT20 is a fatbike on 20 inch wheels with a 250W motor and a removable 720 Wh battery. On one charge you ride up to 65 km. The bike is suitable for two people, so you can take someone along to school, work or the supermarket. Hydraulic disc brakes front and rear bring the two of you to a stop.

Safety and the law

In the Restricted (250W) version the GT20 has 250W and pedal assist up to 25 km/h. So you do not need a driving licence, number plate or helmet. The walk assist helps up to 6 km/h, for example when you push the bike up a slope.

Comfort and riding position

The suspension fork and the wide tyres absorb part of the cobbles and speed bumps. With the adjustable stem you set the handlebar in a position that suits you. Seven Shimano gears help when pulling away and on slopes. You do notice the steel frame and the 43 kg when you lift the bike, for example up a flight of stairs.

Battery, display and charging

The battery is removable, so you charge it indoors. From empty to full takes approx. 4 hours. The range is up to 65 km. What you actually get depends on riding style, speed, tyre pressure, temperature, assistance level and terrain. On the handlebar sits an LCD display with NFC.

Tuning: what is possible and what is allowed

In the Restricted (250W) version the motor delivers 250W and the pedal assist stops at 25 km/h. Those are exactly the limits the law sets for an electric bicycle. If you choose the Tunable version when you order, you tune the Ouxi GT20 to 50 km/h. The tuning parts are then already included, with the tunable controller with red motor plug: you don't need to buy anything separately and only pay the price difference. You will find a spare part later in the tuning kits, and the product finder shows which part belongs to which model. Above 25 km/h an e-bike falls into a different category, such as the speed pedelec with a moped number plate. A throttle that goes faster than 6 km/h without pedalling is not allowed on the public road. Tuned riding is allowed on private or enclosed property only; on the public road a maximum of 25 km/h pedal assist applies. Service, warranty and delivery

You get 3 years warranty on the frame, and 1 year on moving parts and the battery. Boxed, you assemble the bike yourself. Assembled, we build it up, adjust the brakes and check the battery, so it is ready to ride when it reaches you. Ordered before 23:59 means delivered tomorrow in the Netherlands. Delivery to Belgium and Germany is also possible.

The QMWheel V20 Pro has the same 720 Wh battery and also 20 inch wheels with hydraulic disc brakes. It weighs 34 kg, 9 kg less than the GT20, and also has a rear shock absorber. On the lowest level the V20 Pro reaches roughly 75 km. On the GT20 charging takes approx. 4 hours, on the V20 Pro 4 to 6 hours.

Ouxi GT20 versus Ouxi GT2000

The Ouxi GT2000 has a 48V / 30Ah / 1440Wh battery, twice as much as the GT20. That gets you 80 km on average assistance. Charging takes 5 to 6 hours. The GT2000 rides on 24 inch wheels, is meant for 1 person and weighs 34 kg. If you want to take someone along, the GT20 is the better fit.

Ouxi GT20 versus Ouxi V8 Ultra Max

The Ouxi V8 Ultra Max has two batteries of 1440 Wh together and gets 120 km on average assistance. Like the GT20, it has 20 inch wheels, hydraulic disc brakes and room for two people. It has front and rear suspension, weighs 40 kg and charges in 5 to 7 hours. For short rides, the shorter charging time of the GT20 is practical.
