Ouxi Q8 tunable controller: the red-plug controller for your Q8

The Ouxi Q8 is a fatbike for long rides, also with two people. This controller is the part that drives the Q8's 250W motor. It has a red motor plug, works with 21A and is tunable up to 50 km/h. If your old controller is faulty or damaged, you replace it with this original part.

Which bike is this controller for?

This controller is intended for the Ouxi Q8. That bike has a 48V / 20Ah / 960Wh battery and reaches up to 90 km on low assistance. It is made for 2 people and carries a maximum of 150 kg. The controller only works in combination with a red motor cable. If you have a different fatbike model, you need a controller that matches that model.

What the controller does

The controller sits between the battery and the motor. It decides how much assistance you get when you pedal or use the throttle. Without a working controller, the Q8 therefore rides like an ordinary, heavy bike.

Tuning: what is possible and what is allowed

With this controller your Q8 reaches a maximum of 50 km/h. Tuned riding is only allowed on private or enclosed property; on public roads a maximum of 25 km/h pedal assist applies. The tunable Ouxi M5 display (2.0) also fits the Q8. With the killswitch on that display you switch back to 25 km/h before you go onto the road. Fitting it yourself

You do not need a workshop to replace the controller. There are only 5 cables to connect.

• First take the saddle off the Q8, so you can reach the controller properly.
• Compare the colour of the plug and the number of cables with your old controller.
• Connect the cables one by one and take a short test ride.

Does this controller also work with a black motor plug?

No. This controller only works with a red motor cable. So first check which colour the plug to your motor has.

Can I ride on public roads at 50 km/h?

No. That speed is only for private or enclosed property. On public roads the limit remains 25 km/h pedal assist.

What does the throttle do with this controller?

In the restricted setting the throttle works up to 6 km/h. Going faster is only possible with pedal assist.

Can I replace the controller myself?
