Can I have my fatbike tuned by you?

Our fatbikes are tunable, and we also supply individual parts to upgrade your fatbike. Please note: tuning is only permitted on private property, not on public roads.

Is a fatbike still legal?

Yes, a fatbike that complies with current regulations (max. 25 km/h pedal assist and a 250W motor) is fully legal on public roads. Tuned models may only be used on private property.

What are the new fatbike rules for 2026?

Do you need a driver’s license for a fatbike?

You don’t need a driver’s license for a regular fatbike with pedal assist up to 25 km/h. You do for tuned models above that limit. Keep in mind those are only allowed on private property.

Do you need a helmet on a fatbike?

A helmet is strongly recommended for your own safety. From 2026, a helmet requirement will be introduced for certain fatbike categories.

The Ouxi V8 Ultra Mini is a small fatbike on 16 inch wheels, for a body height of roughly 120 to 170 cm. The 250W motor assists you up to 25 km/h. The removable 36V battery takes you up to 50 km.

Safety and the law

With 250W and a limit of 25 km/h, this bike counts as an electric bicycle. You need no driving licence, number plate, helmet or insurance. LED lighting and indicators keep you visible. A built-in alarm helps against theft.

The V8 Ultra Mini in daily use

Comfort and riding position

The compact version is made for shorter riders. If you are taller than 170 cm, our models on 20 or 24 inch wheels fit you better; they suit heights from 150 to 200 cm. The two-person saddle offers room for two people, up to a maximum load of 150 kg. The air-sprung front fork absorbs speed bumps. With 7 gears you keep pedalling when the battery is flat. Keep the weight in mind: you feel 30 kg when you lift it.

Battery, display and charging

The battery has 36V and 10,4Ah, 374 Wh in total. Because it is removable, you can also charge it indoors. From empty to full takes 4 to 6 hours. On high assistance you get roughly 30 km, on medium 40 km and on low up to 50 km. Riding style, speed, tyre pressure, temperature and terrain all play a part. The bike has an LCD display.

Not tunable, but legal straight away

The Ouxi V8 Ultra Mini is a 36V mini and is sold restricted only: 250W and pedal assist up to 25 km/h. This model is not tunable. So you do not choose a version, and you cannot make it go faster later either.

What does that mean? You always stay within the legal limit and never have to switch anything. Tuned riding is allowed on private or enclosed property only; on the public road a maximum of 25 km/h pedal assist applies. Service, warranty and delivery

You get 3 years warranty on the frame, and 1 year on moving parts and the battery. With boxed delivery you assemble the bike yourself. If you choose assembled, we build it up, adjust the brakes and check the battery; it arrives ready to ride. Ordered before 23:59, delivered tomorrow in the Netherlands. Delivery to Belgium and Germany is also available.

Parts and accessories for the V8 Ultra Mini

For every part, check that it fits a 36V bike with 16 inch wheels.

Battery: when choosing a spare battery from batteries, mind the voltage of 36V.
Tyres: replace a tyre with one of the same size, 16x4,5 inch, from tyres.
Brakes: you find brake pads and brake discs for hydraulic disc brakes under brakes.
Locks: the alarm is already built into the bike; you find an extra lock under locks.
