QMWheel V20 Cross – Black: one bike for tarmac, sand and gravel

The QMWheel V20 Cross rides on 17 inch cross and skinny tyres, 70 mm wide. That takes you over tarmac, sand and gravel. The 1056 Wh battery takes you up to 70 km. Front and rear suspension keep the ride steady on rough paths.

It is made for anyone who rides more than just around town: a gravel path to work, a loop through the dunes or a trip with someone on the back. You order it from FatbikeKlaar.nl; the same bike can also be ordered through FatbikeKlaar.be for Belgium and through FatbikeKlaar.com in English.

Why the QMWheel V20 Cross is a good choice

Performance

  • Motor: 250W nominal and 500W peak, pedal assist up to 25 km/h.
  • Battery: 48V / 22Ah / 1056Wh, removable.
  • Range: up to 70 km on one charge.
  • Charging time: 6 hours for a full battery.
  • Brakes: disc brakes.
  • Tyres: 17 inch wheels with cross and skinny tyres, 70 mm wide.

Safety and the law

In the Restricted (250W) version the V20 Cross is an electric bicycle with pedal assist up to 25 km/h. You then need no driving licence or number plate, and there is no helmet requirement. The throttle gives walk assist up to 6 km/h. For the Tunable version there is a hard limit: tuned riding is allowed on private or enclosed property only.

The QMWheel V20 Cross in practice

Comfort and riding position

The front and rear suspension absorbs part of the shocks on gravel and tree roots. The long saddle has room for two people, with a maximum load of 150 kg. With 7 Shimano gears you pick a light gear in loose sand or into the wind. Do keep the weight in mind: you don't just carry 44.7 kg up a flight of stairs.

Battery, display and charging

The battery is removable, so you can charge it indoors, separately from the bike. A full charge takes 6 hours. The range goes up to 70 km. How far you really get depends on riding style, assistance level, tyre pressure, temperature and surface. The LCD display shows your speed, the battery level and the distance.

Tuning: what is possible and what is allowed

The Tunable version can be tuned up to 45 km/h. The tuning parts are already included: the tunable V20 Cross controller with red motor plug of 21A and the tunable H6C display, which fits the V20 Cross. So you don't need to buy anything separately and only pay the extra charge for the Tunable version. Tuning parts for other models or as spares are in the tuning kits. You read the step-by-step guide in tuning the QMWheel V20 Cross. Tuned riding is allowed on private or enclosed property only; on the public road a maximum of 25 km/h pedal assist applies.

Service, warranty and delivery

You get 3 years warranty on the frame and 1 year on moving parts and the battery. You choose the delivery yourself. Boxed, you assemble the bike yourself. Assembled, it arrives built up and ready to ride, with the brakes adjusted and the battery checked. Order in the Netherlands before 23:59 and you have it at home tomorrow.

Parts and accessories for the QMWheel V20 Cross

  • Controller: the tunable V20 Cross controller with red motor plug (21A). With the Tunable version it is already included; you only order it separately as a spare part.
  • Display: the tunable H6C display for the V20 Cross. This is also already included with the Tunable version.
  • Tyres: replace a tyre with one of the same size, 17 inch and 70 mm wide.
  • Lock: secure the bike with one of our locks.

The QMWheel V20 Cross compared with our other fatbikes

QMWheel V20 Cross versus QMWheel V20 Pro

The QMWheel V20 Pro has 48V / 15Ah / 720Wh and goes 60 km on average assistance. It rides on 20 inch wheels with 20x4 inch tyres, charges in 4 to 6 hours and weighs 34 kg. Both have 7 Shimano gears. The V20 Cross has the bigger battery; the V20 Pro is a good 10 kg lighter.

QMWheel V20 Cross versus Ouxi GT2000

The Ouxi GT2000 has 48V / 30Ah / 1440Wh and reaches 80 km on average assistance. It rides on 24 inch off-road tyres, weighs 34 kg, charges in 5 to 6 hours and is meant for one person. If you want to take someone along, the V20 Cross with its long saddle is the better fit.

QMWheel V20 Cross versus Ouxi V8 Ultra Max

The Ouxi V8 Ultra Max has two batteries of 1440 Wh together and reaches 120 km on average assistance. It charges in 5 to 7 hours, rides on 20x4 inch tyres and weighs 40 kg. Like the V20 Cross, it has front and rear suspension. For long rides the V8 Ultra Max is the obvious pick. If you often switch between tarmac, sand and gravel, you choose the V20 Cross.

Ordering the QMWheel V20 Cross at FatbikeKlaar

You make two choices. First the version: Restricted (250W) for the public road, or Tunable for private or enclosed property. With Tunable the tuning parts are already included: you buy nothing separately and only pay the extra charge. Then the delivery: boxed or assembled. You compare other models at all fatbikes.

Frequently asked questions about the QMWheel V20 Cross

Do I need a driving licence for the QMWheel V20 Cross?

No, not in the Restricted (250W) version. The pedal assist then stops at 25 km/h. There is also no number plate or helmet requirement.

How far do I get on one battery charge?

Up to 70 km. Riding style, assistance level, temperature, tyre pressure and surface decide how far you really get. An empty battery is full again after 6 hours of charging.

May I ride at 45 km/h on the public road?

No. That is allowed on private or enclosed property only. On the public road the pedal assist stays restricted to 25 km/h.

What warranty and maintenance come with it?

The frame has 3 years warranty, moving parts and the battery 1 year. Check tyre pressure, chain and brake pads regularly. After a ride through sand it pays to clean the chain.

Can I have the bike delivered assembled?

Yes. Choose Assembled for the delivery: the bike is built up, the brakes are adjusted and the battery is checked. With Boxed you assemble it yourself.
